Meeting in the framework of the promotion of the reform of the militia

On September 19, 2017, in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the head of the international cooperation Department of the MIA, colonel of the militia Zumrad Abdullozoda, and the deputy Chief of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, colonel of the militia K. Soliev, met with the Adviser on Counter-Terrorism and Police Issues the Programme Office in Dushanbe Dmitry Kaportsev.

The meeting was also attended by Abdulloev Bahrom, the national officer for assistance in the reform of the police and Makhmadiev Khaydar Holovich, the national officer of communication on reform of militia of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.

 

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on mutually beneficial cooperation between the Programme Office in Dushanbe and the Ministry of Internal Affairs within the framework of the police reform.

It was noted that within the framework of the police reform, the Strategy and the Program for Reforming (Development) of the Militia for 2014-2020 were adopted. In this direction a number of definite works have been done.
Adviser on Counter-Terrorism and Police Issues the Programme Office of in Dushanbe, Dmitriy Kaportsev, proposed to create forensic audiences in the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in order to strengthen the cadets' intellectual abilities, inspect the scene and other material evidence.

This proposal was positively assessed, the representatives of the OSCE Programs Office in Dushanbe stressed that they will assist in providing these audiences with the necessary equipment.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed confidence in the further expansion of cooperation in the reform of the militia.
